Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM)

What's a VRM?

A Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) is most often referred to as a number plate (or registration plate).

It's a unique set of (usually) seven numbers and letters that help to track a vehicle's ownership and registration, and that it complies to driving laws.

Since 2001, VRMs are displayed as follows:

  • Two letters to show where the vehicle was first registered

  • Two numbers to show the age

  • Three random letters to make sure number plates are different from each other
