Space saver

A space saver wheel is a spare wheel stored in a car in case of a puncture. However, it is only designed for temporary use, to get the car to a place of repair, so the car’s maximum recommended speed is 50mph. There’s no limit on how far the car can drive on a space-saver, but the limited tread (only 3mm from new) and softer rubber used mean that the car should be taken to the nearest available garage or tyre specialist as soon as possible.
