Hill hold assist

How does a hill hold assist function work?

A hill hold assist function on a car can prevent it rolling backwards on a slope, by holding the brakes while the driver moves their foot off the brake and on to the accelerator. Sensors in the car detect when a vehicle is on a sloping road, so the hill hold assist keeps the brakes on for a set period of time until you press the accelerator, which then releases the brake.
